Public Adjusting

The National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters defines Public Adjusters (PA) as professionals who are employed by a property owner who has sustained an insured loss. They handle “every detail of the claim, working closely with the Insured to provide the most equitable and prompt settlement possible. A Public Adjuster inspects the loss site immediately, analyzes the damages, assembles claim support data, reviews the Insured’s coverage, determines current replacement costs and exclusively serves the client, not the insurance company.” — napia.com

Appraisal & Umpire

If the insurance company and the policy holder cannot agree to the value of loss our staff is qualified to act as an Appraiser or an Umpire in your settlement.

When the Insured and the insurance company cannot come to an agreement on value of a loss, either party may demand appraisal. Each party shall appoint their own Appraiser. An experienced appraiser is critical in helping the insured and carrier come to an agreed settlement.

In the event the two appraisers cannot reach an agreement, they shall submit their disagreements to the Umpire. An Umpire is a competent, objective, impartial individual who is charged with reaching an agreement regarding the value of property or the amount of a property loss. Any two of the three parties that agree will set the value of loss.

While the majority of claims are settled without appraisal, it is important to have an experienced, qualified person to act on your behalf. ALPHA Adjusting® public adjusters can provide the expertise you need should you find yourself in an appraisal situation.
